United Kingdom issues laptop, tablet flight ban for six countries

LONDON: Passengers traveling to Britain from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Turkey will be banned from bringing laptops and tablets to the aircraft cabin, the government announced Tuesday.

"Our top priority will be to maintain the safety of British citizens," a spokesman said after the United States imposed a similar ban, warning that extremists plan to attack planes with bombs on electronic devices.
